The Snowshoe Midge, also known as the "Bunny Midge," is a proven dry fly pattern designed to imitate emerging and adult midges during colder weather conditions. This highly effective pattern excels during winter and early-season midge hatches when trout are selectively feeding on the surface. Whether you're targeting selective tailwater trout or fishing a heavy winter midge hatch, the Snowshoe Midge is a must-have pattern for your fly box.
Fish it on its own for a delicate presentation or as a trailing fly behind a larger dry fly for improved visibility and strike detection. The Snowshoe Midge shines in foam lines, seams, and slow-moving water where trout are quietly sipping midges from the surface.
This version, tied on a scud/emerger curved hook, features a slim UTC 70 black thread body, UV Chenille tail, and poly yarn wing.
Each fly is carefully hand-tied to provide a natural profile and reliable flotation, making it a dependable choice for technical trout fishing situations.Contact our shop with any questions or comments.Â
