Massachusetts foundry cast aluminum tying vise pedestal

This beefy 11lb base will keep your vise put. It will be great as a portable tying station or a mainstay on your tying table.
The cast in tool caddy is pre drilled with 3/8 and 1/2” holes for tool storage. Stem collar is cast in and bored to 3/8” which seems the universal vise stem diameter. With a locking knob included. Divided storage trays for material orginization with four to six magnetic smaller compartments for hooks and beads. Four rubber feet are screwed into tapped holes, not just glued in place.
A bit on the making process, these are cast in green sand (recycled). Kind of like making a sand castle at the beach. A mold is made with negative of the pedestal, 1400degree molten aluminum is poured into the cavity. After solidification casting is cleaned, cut, ground/polished, drilled, tapped, painted and assembled.
There’s some customization available. As an example I elongated the height of the stem post for a customer. Added a second drilled post for a light for another customer.

If you’d like to personalize your base with your initials it will be positively cast in the bottom right corner unless otherwise specified. Left and right available.
